These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of bearknucklegarage.com, the customer portal, and any related digital tools (together, the "Site") operated by Bear Knuckle Garage LLC ("Bear Knuckle Garage," "we," or "us"). By using the Site you agree to these Terms. Repair work is separately governed by the written estimate, authorization, and invoice you sign at the shop.
Use of the Site
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and not to interfere with its operation, attempt to gain unauthorized access, scrape at scale, or misuse the customer portal. We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being used to harm the shop or other customers.
Accounts
The customer portal uses passwordless sign-in with Google, Apple, or an email magic link. You are responsible for keeping access to your email and any linked provider account secure, and for any two-factor authenticator you enroll. Let us know right away if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
Estimates, authorization, and payment
Estimates shown or discussed through the Site are informational. Actual repair work is only authorized once you sign a written estimate at the shop, as required by Maryland's Automotive Repair Facilities Act. Additional work beyond the authorized estimate will not be performed without a further authorization from you. Payment is due when the vehicle is picked up unless we agree otherwise in writing.
AI assistant ("Grease")
The Site includes an AI assistant nicknamed "Grease" that answers shop, parts, and machine questions. By using Grease you agree to the following. Grease is a convenience tool, not professional mechanical, legal, medical, or financial advice. Answers, part fitments, torque specs, wear limits, prices, availability, and links can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Nothing Grease says is a binding quote, warranty, or promise of service. Repair work is only authorized once you sign a written estimate at the shop.
You agree not to use Grease to (a) enter another person's private information, (b) attempt to jailbreak, extract system prompts, or misuse the assistant, (c) generate content that is unlawful, harassing, or infringing, or (d) rely on Grease for safety-critical decisions without independent verification. We may rate-limit, throttle, or block sessions that abuse the assistant, and we may log messages, session and IP metadata, and machine context for safety, quality, and abuse prevention. See the Privacy Policy for details on what Grease processes and how long it is retained.
User-provided content
When you send messages, photos, machine notes, wishlist items, or Grease prompts through the Site, you confirm you have the right to share that content and you grant Bear Knuckle Garage LLC a limited, non-exclusive license to store, display, and use it to operate the shop, service your account, improve the assistant's answers, and meet legal recordkeeping obligations. You remain the owner of your content.
Affiliate links and third-party retailers
Some product recommendations route through /go/ affiliate links to third-party retailers (for example eBay or parts suppliers). If you buy through those links, the shop may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We do not control retailer inventory, pricing, shipping, returns, or warranties, and we are not a party to any purchase you make on a third-party site.
Gift cards, Knuckle Bucks, and promotions
Digital gift cards and Knuckle Bucks rewards are issued for use at Bear Knuckle Garage and have no cash value, are non-transferable except as expressly allowed, cannot be redeemed for cash except where required by law, and may expire or be adjusted where a purchase is refunded, charged back, or reversed. We may cancel balances obtained through fraud or error.
Warranty
Repair work is covered by the written warranty printed on your invoice. Parts carry the warranty offered by their manufacturer. This Site does not create or expand any warranty beyond what is stated on your invoice.
Vehicle drop-off and storage
Vehicles must be picked up promptly once repairs are complete and paid for. Storage fees may apply to vehicles left after the pickup date noted on your invoice. We are not responsible for personal items left in the vehicle; please remove valuables before drop-off.
Content and intellectual property
The Site, including the Bear Knuckle Garage name and logo, text, graphics, and photographs, is owned by Bear Knuckle Garage LLC or its licensors and is protected by U.S. copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, redistribute, or use the Site's content for commercial purposes without written permission.
Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party sites such as Facebook, mapping providers, or parts suppliers. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites.
Disclaimers
The Site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Information on the Site is general and is not a substitute for a hands-on inspection or the written estimate and invoice you receive at the shop.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bear Knuckle Garage LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Site. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under Maryland consumer-protection laws that cannot be waived by agreement.
Text messages
If you opt in to text messages, our Text Message Program terms apply. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or service, message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Maryland.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top shows when they were last changed.
